Ahhh winter…the time of year when sub zero wind chills and icy road conditions are tolerable through the joy of Christmas lights, warm fireplaces, (spiked) hot chocolate and cozy sweaters.
Today’s outfit is inspired by the misery of coming back to Milwaukee after spending a week in Hawaii with my family over Thanksgiving. I may or may not have browsed through Zillow looking for affordable homes in Hawaii (quickly deemed impossible), contemplated moving there despite the ridiculous housing costs, created a mental list of pros and cons of moving, and ended up justifying staying in Milwaukee through the fact that I’d miss all the cozy winter outfits that would become useless in a season-less climate. Plus, listening to holiday music in a swim suit is just weird.
Bringing together warm colors is one of my favorite ways to cozy up winter wear. Today, that means a thick oversized sweater, burgundy denim, cognac booties, and a gold wooden watch.
The easiest way to cozy up an outfit is slapping on a sweater in which to drown your accumulated winter blubber. I’ve got me some winter rolls, and I’m not talking about my bread basket (though I am currently craving some carbs…). I first saw this sweater when I saw random girl in a coffee shop wearing it. I walked past her basically staring at her sweater until I turned around and had to ask her where the sweater was from. The brand is Free People, but you can get it at Nordstrom or Macy’s as well. (Right now, you can get the sweater for 30% off at Macy’s with the promo code FRIEND and all sizes are available!)
Undoubtedly my favorite (and most unique) part of today’s outfit though is my wooden watch. If you’ve followed Honeydew from the beginning, you might remember this post about my first JORD watch back in April. Read it to find out all the great benefits of buying a wooden watch from JORD! Everything I wrote about the benefits of buying from JORD still holds true! My watch from the original post (Frankie 35 in Zebrawood and Navy) is still available on the site. I’ve worn it about once every 1 – 2 weeks since last March and it is still in perfect condition. No scratches or any signs of wear yet! It has warranted many compliments from friends and strangers who had never seen a wooden watch before.
I got my second wooden watch from JORD this winter and I couldn’t be happier. This time, I fell victim to JORD’s new line of Cassia watches and picked up the super versatile gold and ivory watch. (But I have to admit, the rose gold version of the watch tempted me pretty badly as well.) My watch has beautiful gold accents on the wooden links and a pearly white finish on the watch face. I love the classic, yet unique style. I am obsessed.
If you’re looking for a special and unique gift to give this holiday season, a JORD watch is definitely the way to go. Every watch comes in a beautiful wooden storage box which you can custom engrave – they are very giftable! (The watch itself is also engraveable!) If you have a man in your life that loves watches, definitely take a look at the swanky men’s watch assortment on the site as well. Any custom engraved orders placed by 12/10 are guaranteed to ship by Christmas.
The watches have high end prices because they truly are luxurious watches. Luckily, ya’ll know I love sales and discounts and I have an exclusive JORD offer for Honeydew followers! Click here to get a 25% off promo code for your own JORD watch! The code will expire December 15th, so make sure you use your promo code before then. Bonus: your watch ships free worldwide. that’s handy for the grandma that lives in Taiwan. Oh wait, am I the only one with a grandma in Taiwan?
Hope you are all having the coziest of cozy winters! Even if you live in somewhere warm, some holiday music and Christmas decor always are sure to cure any winter blues. Keep an eye out for a Hawaii travel blog post soon! Until then, let’s get some snow in Milwaukee, eh?
Thank you, JORD Watches for sponsoring this post.
